movie review:Remember the Titans
... Since one high school was all-white, and the other all-black, in 1971 the two were forced to merge. Harold Boone, played by Denzel Washington, was hired as the new head coach of the black school, but then reassigned to be assistant coach under Coach Toast (Will Patton), of the old white school, at T.C.Williams. Then, to fill a state quota, the school board promoted Boone against his will to be the head coach. Reluctantly, Yoast agreed to be his defensive coordinator. With the angered white men in charge, a zero-tolerance policy is developed to where if Boone loses even one game, he will be ousted. Courageously, Boone pulls together a team of racially diverse boys who, at first, seemed completely uncooperative.
