misclaimed luggage

...o my overstuffed bags made me feel a bit foolish. Everyone was finally together, so we boarded our bus and headed towards the hotel. We only had enough time to drop off our luggage in our rooms before meeting back in the lobby. This first day was ours to explore Paris. Brittany and I decided to stick with Monsieur Allen since he used to live in this city when in college. Once we started trucking, the city overwhelmed me. right away, I could tell the difference in French and American cultures just by looking at the people passing me by. My group and I stuck out like sore thumbs. Monsieur Allen took us all over Paris. We stopped in one of the best know cafes, attended mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral, and of course went shopping. Monsieur Allen wore us out, but we still had to make our way to meet the entire group for dinner at a Greek restaurant. The meal was excellent. By the time dinner was over, my belly was overstuffed and I was about to fall asleep. The group bus picked us up at the restaurant to take us back to the hotel, which was just outside the city. Not even the jolting of the bus could keep me from sleeping. Brittany woke me as soon as we reached the hotel. Still partially asleep, I somehow found my way to the elevator and into my room. All I wanted to do was to put on my nightgown and crawl into bed. I found the key to my suitcase and opened it up. I will never forget the first thing that popped into my head: “Why did my mother put a hot pink jump suit into my luggage?” Instantly I was wide-awake. A little moan escaped from my lips before I fully realized my mistake. I had grabbed the wrong luggage! Meanwhile, back at the airport, the unfortunate woman had realized right away that my luggage was not hers. She notified the authorities at the airport, and they sent my luggage to a hotel that they thought I was staying at.
