...en something happens to my body my mind reacts to it. For instance, if I burn myself on a hot pan my mind reacts to it with the feeling of pain. Likewise, my body also reacts to my mind. If I want to raise my hand, my mind tells my hand to rise. The scientific reason for my hand rising, in short, is my brain sends a signal to my muscles to contact to lift my hand. Well, what made the brain send the signal? The brain is an actual thing of substance and is part of the body. Does the mind exist without the brain? Some say that brains are to minds as computers are to processing. Except I have never heard of a computer who can process emotions such as love or despair. Science explains emotions as just chemical reactions in the brain, which makes us feel. But, isn’t the actual feeling is just a feeling in our mind. If the mind and body are one then one could not exist without the other. Many people believe that when we die our souls exit without our bodies forever. I think when people believe this they think their minds are part of there souls. I think this because when people think of life after death they usually think of it with all their memories, thoughts, and ideas from there past life, which would be their mind. If this really does happen then the mind and body could not be one. The body can represent and display what is going inside the mind, for instance a smile represents happiness. This could be recognized as evidence of mind and body being one. But just because the person is smiling, it does not necessarily mean that the person is actuall...
