Also his cousin is killed by gangs in Fresno so his family wants revenge from him. As a matter of fact he has a struggle against these gangs, risking his life. Eddie’s life is a very good example of the poor economic situation of Mexican-Americans facing prejudice, discrimination and inevitable violence. Like all the other Mexican-Americans, Eddie’s main problem in life was poverty. Earning living was very hard for Mexican-Americans including Eddie.
