In this religion the gods controlled nature and gods dictated the humans lives. The Egyptians around 2900 B.C. started their civilization with the ruler known as Farmer. Their civilization was settled off the banks of the Nile River. The river was the source of life to them. It was not unpredictable like the Tigris-Euphrates. Egypt's cities were religious communities that had polytheistic traits. Their government was also a theocracy. The Egyptians had a ruler called a pharaoh that was a god within himself. Both of these civilizations had a set writing form. The Mesopotamian had the cuneiform while the Egyptians had hieroglyphics.
