Another value of the Renaissance is naturalism. Naturalism is the creation of a picture as if it happens in the real world. Examples of naturalism would be the use of shadows and light used by Raphael. This shows the life-like qualities of the people and buildings, and gives the picture depth, so it looks like one could be included on the portrait. This painting also uses aerial perspective by making objects, which are farther away; appear smaller and distorted more than the ones, closer to the observer.
