The news spread all over Jappa and many people believed in the Lord. Acts 10:44-48 The Gentiles Received the Holy Spirit When Peter was still specking the Holy spirit came down to all the people that were listening to him. The Jewish believers, who had followed Peter from Jappa, were amazed that God sent his Holy Spirit to them. Peter spoke out “These people had received the Holy Spirit; also as we did, can anyone stop them from being baptized with water?” Peter ordered for all the people to get baptized in the name is Jesus Christ. Acts 12:1-19 More Persecution There was a king named King Herod, he was persecuting the people of the church. He had told James to kill himself with a sword. When this all happened, and everyone saw it the Jews were very happy. The king decided to go and arrest peter. After the arrest, Peter was put in jail, he was guarded by four groups of soldiers. Peter was kept in jail because king Herod planned to keep him in trial after Passover. Peter Was Set Free From Jail The night Herod was going to bring him to the people. Peter was tied with chains with guards guiding the prison. An angel came down to save Peter; the angel shook him so he could wake up. The angel said to him “hurry! Get up!” the angel said again “Come and follow me.” Peter followed, but he thought that this was all a dream. They passed by the guard post and then the other. They came out, walked down the street and the angel left him. Then Peter new what happened. He said to himself “Now I know it was true! The Lord sent his angels to rescue me from Kings Herod prison.” After this whole situation, Peter went to the house were of Mary, were everybody gathered to pray. He knocked on the door, and a servant-girl came to the door as she heard his voice she had told everybody that Peter was at the door. He kept knocking until the door opened. When it did everyone was amazed to see him. He told them that the lord had set him free form jail. The next morning the guards were looking around for Peter they had found that he was gone. Herod told everyone to search for him. Acts 14: 8-18 In Lystra Derbe There was a man who lived in Lystra who couldn’t walk. He sat and listened to what Paul had to say. He said to the man to stand.
