The music was a typical Gypsy music, a syncretic music that was a combination of Oriental and Western style. In the concert, the guitarist developed variation on themes and improvised his music. The technique he used was a combination of classical guitar technique with intricate Flamenco rolls, finger percussion, and syncopated strumming. Some of the compositions were accompanied by the dancer’s vocal, rhythmical clapping hands, and rhythmical tapping high-heel shoes. The composition that I liked the most was Bulerias. Bulerias was highly improvisational rhythmic dance music. While the guitarist performed the music, the dancer danced and sang along with the music. Thus, the texture was homophonic. Sometimes the dancer gave exciting hand clapping that make the music more interesting. The tempo was mostly allegro and the dynamics was forte. Sometimes the tempo became slower in some part (ritardando), but mostly it was allegro. The time signature I believe was ¾. The other composition that impressed me was Malaguena Con Verdiales.
