Becoming a FBI agent has been a dream of mine for years, and playing Clue has been the closest I have come to living my dream. The game has all the aspects of a real life mystery case. There are people that are the suspects and weapons that are the possible murder weapons. The setting is an old, dark mansion with nine different rooms, each one adding its own secrets to the house. Each player also receives clues to help solve the case, and has the opportunity to obtain clues from other players. All of these things are characteristic in a real case, the only difference is that there would be more information to gather if the case were real. My favorite part of the game is the competition between players. Everyone has different clues and no one wants to give their clues away, so they have to be secretive while still trying to win the game. In a real case, a lot of the information that is gathered is not told to everyone because no one want to give it to others working on the case. The goal is for you to figure out the case so you can get the recognition. Without the competition and need for success, no one would be motivated to solve crimes. On the other hand, each player of the game wants to pay close attention to all the other players’ moves. If you only concentrate on yourself you will not get very far because you only have a limited amount of information. Real detectives have to keep their ears and eyes open at all times just in case something that was unnoticed slips out.
