Market or Command?
...income is produced. For most people having money is their top priority and market is the way to do that. Market also has the most growth for the people, while command has growth for the government. During the bead activity the market system produced the most, but also had fun with it. I prefer the fast pace activity to the slow and boring one, like the command system. When you only have a certain amount to produce, like in command, as soon as you finish with that your done. In market your goal is the produce the most in the given time in order to make the most money for yourself. Self-gain is the market systems top priority. Environmental issues are not important in a market system and if a business produces smog or unhealthy work environments, it does not pose a big issue, as long as it is producing the most it can. Market also does have some disadvantages. There is not much equity, since some people are very wealthy while others are very poor. In a command system everyone is the same and receives the same amount of ‘stuff’. I think that that would leave people with nothing to strive for and nothing to gain. I like the feeling of accomplishing something, and looking forward for the future. I believe that people suffer because their need to achieve is not as high as others, and they do not bother to try. I think everyone could succeed in a market system if only they tried, since everyone gets an equal chance. Efficiency is also very high because everything is produced for the needs of others, or mostly the highest bidder. But some things come at a cheaper cost than others.
