The American expansion in the United States was inevitable. The westward movement gave many Americans better opportunities. Many religious Christians moved west, it was their belief that it was God’s will that Americans spread over the entire continent to control and populate the country as they see fit. Many expansionist conceived God as having the power to sustain and guide human destiny. It was their belief that unconverted Indians were doomed to hell. It was the white man’s burden to conquer and Christianize the land. Manifest Destiny had a future that was destined by God to expand its borders with no limit to an area or country.
