...th that he has gained the title of Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth wrote a letter to his wife Lady Macbeth telling her about the predictions of the witches and how the first prediction was right. That day, King Duncan was going to stay at Macbeth's house for the night so Macbeth and Lady Macbeth both could not wait for Duncan to die naturally. They both planned and murdered Duncan to speed up the process of Macbeth becoming the king. The witches predicted to Banquo, Macbeth's best friend that his son's son's will be kings. Macbeth didn't like that the idea of Banquo's son's son's becoming kings so he hired so assassins to kill Banquo and his son Fleance. Banquo dies but Fleance gets away. Later that day a man named Macduff who was a nobleman flees away from Macbeth so Macbeth had Macduffs whole family murdered. Macbeth was so mad that Macduff got away he order that if anyone talked bad of himself that they will be immediately hung. Because of Macbeth's greed for more power he killed Macduff's family and this made Macduff really mad so he joined forces with the great Sergeant Seward and attack Macbeth with an army. Macbeth went back to the witches for more predictions and the witches told him that he will not be conquered until the Forest of Birnham come to Dunsinane.
