macbeth's growing insanity

Macduff crossed him and now he was going to have his family slaughtered like lambs. In the end Macbeth's paranoid thoughts got the best of him and and he did something that he was to regret. If a person is weak minded and can be manipulated easily ;he/she can be cohersed to do things h/she wouldn't ordinarily do. In act 1 we saw that Macbeth didn't want to kill Duncan when he said "we will proceed no farther in this business"(I,vii,32). Although shortley after that Lady Macbeth said a few things and Macbeth was back on the killing train of thought again. Macbeth's feeble mind was easy to trickhim into doing something he didn't want to do. Lack of sleep and and stress can make people see insane visions. Before Duncan's murder, Macbethwas under a lot of stress, very tired, and he had a few drinkswhen he stated "A dagger of the mind, a false creation, proceeding the heat opressed brain"(II,i,38-39). Awhile after that confrontation with the airborn dagger he had a similar expierience with Banquo's ghostbut that really freaked out Macbeth.
