Macbeth - guilt

...t it didn’t just stop there. It led to more deaths. I think the reason for this is because he already had killed someone. To kill someone for the first time is hard but Macbeth already killed King Duncan. It makes it a little easier for him to kill another person. Macbeth started to become more independent and started to act on his own. Macbeth didn’t really have to kill Banquo because he wasn’t really a threat to his throne. He just did it to prevent fates cause. At this point he is deceitful. He killed Banquo who was his friend. He failed to kill Fleance though was the real threat to his throne. Fleance escaped and it made Macbeth frustrated. Macbeth hints at his guilt when he says, “Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood clean from my hand? No; this my hand will rather the multitudinous seas incarnadine, making the green one red.” At this point he doesn’t think he will ever be able to forget the terrible deed he has done. He says that if he were to wash his hands in the ocean, instead of cleaning his hands he will turn the ocean red from all the blood. The blood represents all of his guilt. At this point he feels regretful. Macbeth was told that her wife was inflicted with insomnia and hallucinations. He was then told later at his castle that he wife had died. ...
