..., so we are taking an Anti-Bullying unit to strive for a more What is peace? One dictionary defines peace as "freedom from war or strife of any kind". When a girl like me reads the definition I think "What can I do about war in the world?". When I really stop to think about it, I am part of the world, maybe a very small part, but all those small parts can make a bit part, and bit parts can make a bit difference! Our school is making a real effort to be a place of peace in our community. This should make school al happier place to be for everyone. I think happy teachers and happy students learn better. Bullying is almost the opposite of peace in schools, so we are taking an Anti-Bullying unit to strive for a more peaceful atmosphere at Lakeview. We are forming a chain of links to all the way around the school. These links are made up of respectfulness, friendship, following classroom rules and even more. Maybe if we can learn to live in peace at school, we will bring it with us into our homes and communities and as we grow up, into our work places. Eventually this way of life may cross oceans to far parts of the world. Wouldn't it be wonderful if peace could spread like chicken pox...
