Later on in the chapter Ralph emerges as a leader type, especially when he blows the conch and attracts the other stranded people on the island. A ‘natural born leader’ if you will. When they are then all in a meeting, Ralph brings up Piggy and his sensitivity of his nickname. The group begin to laugh and Piggy is then born as the figment of insult, this gives Ralph a sense of guilt, but he continues to laugh, going with the flow In chapter 2 Ralph beginnings to represent democracy in the group. He starts to suggest sets of rules which give slight equality, not in modern day terms, but definitely in a group of children would basically know, know better. Later on in the book there are certain times when Jack’s view of hunting and tribal anarchism is contrasted against Ralph’s view of democracy and rules of society.
