Piggy and Ralph stick together until the end when they go up the rocks where all of the other boys are and one of them throws a boulder off and it sends piggy over the edge and he dies. Ralph feels that he was the one that betrayed piggy because he let them steal his glasses and when they went back to get them he ended up getting killed. Ralph afterwards felt responsible for the death of piggy because he brought him up there to get his glasses back and he ended up being thrown over and killed, if they had only stay put that piggy would have still been alive. The physical differences of the two boys are that jack has red hair and is tall, thin, and bony, unlike piggy who is out of shape. He is fatter than Jack. Piggy has really bad asthma; jack is in pretty good physical condition. Jack doesn’t wear glasses and piggy does. Jack has a lot of freckles & crumpled face. Piggy looks really young, while jack looks a little bit older and more mature than he is. Another difference between the two was that Ralph was the chosen leader of the group. He tried to get the boys to do things in order but he was easily swayed by the authority of Jack and the awareness of Piggy. He seems to be a floater in the group he doesn’t know whether to go the good way or the evil way with the whole situation. Ralph knows the difference between right and wrong but Jack could persuade him to go the other way and basically go against his beliefs. That happened a few times in the story Ralph usually stood by Piggy’s decision however. He just went with the flow on the other hand Piggy stuck to his beliefs and did what he thought was right and he did what he felt was necessary to survive. Piggy never gave into the savagery of the others. In his last words, “What is it better to be, a bunch of savages like you are, or sensible like Ralph is”, he proves that it is possible for someone to remain themselves and not...
