Leukemia is a general term because there is more than one known type of Leukemia, there are four known types of Leukemia, they are: *Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia or ALL is often called Childhood Leukemia and usually strikes children. This type of Leukemia often appears very suddenly. About eighty-five percent of children with Leukemia have this kind of Leukemia. * Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or CLL which most often affects people over the age of forty. Men are twice as likely as women to get this type of Leukemia. * Acute Non-Lymphocytic Leukemia or ANLL is the most common form of Leukemia in adults. It varies in its development, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. *Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia or CML is most often found in middle age people and normally progresses slowly. There is no known cause of Leukemia, but some believe that susceptibility to it may be inherited. Some believe that repeated doses of radiation is also linked to Leukemia.
