We get more pleasure watching other people get hurt than fall in love. Sometimes it humors us, and other times we are repulsed by the extraordinary amount of gore. We need movies with violence so we can see how horrible it is and why we don’t go around hurting people. From off the wall fight scenes in martial arts movies, to gruesome dismemberments in war films, violence captivates us as an audience and brings us back, begging for more. Depending on the way it happens, people getting hurt can be very funny. We can be bent over in two laughing ourselves to death. Such examples can be found in Jackass.
