...he importance of Finland’s independence. The people of Finland deserved their own fate, as should be for any country and their population. Well, Lenin made this possible for the Finnish folk. In 1917 he made his decision for the people of Finland to have the right to determine their own fate. For the most part he did so because he needed their help to fight the “mutual enemy” or the Tsar. Every person on the council agreed that these people should be free. Along the way Lenin and his army had many bloody battles. His first opponents were the Cossacks. They were known for their military capabilities and brought more anti-Bolsheviks to fight with them. Unlucky for the Cossacks their first two generals died; one from being sick, and the other during battle. After the battle with the Cossacks, more armies came along. These other armies used convicts to fight and it worked for a little while. At this point the Czechs, Germans, Polish and Japanese have become involved in this war. An estimated 700,000 to one million people had now died amongst all of this war. What a terrible incident, all because people could not agree and get along, plus the mistrusting of friends and allies. In 1918, Lenin survived an assassination attempt, but was injured. After that he led the Soviet government for the next four years...
