...ether. Teamwork enhances success, promotes creativity, builds confidence among everyone; also it is fun and reduces tension and conflicts. When people work together it improves quality, coordination, satisfaction, and flexibility. Leadership skills also need to be enforced when using teamwork because everyone has to work together equally and stay on task. Teamwork helps because it involves other people, you get more input from others to help make decisions, and you better develop individual performances. This does not mean that teamwork is the best solution for everything because some things need to be done individually, but part of being a leader is involving others because without followers you would not be an impressive leader. Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul, Pierre Trudeau, Winston Churchill, Michael Jordan, Mayor Guiliani are all names of past and present leaders. These people play or played a big part in peoples lives because they have all the characteristics of a great leader and have worked really hard to help others. When you watch, read or listen to old documentaries about Martin Luther King, you cannot help but be amazed at what a powerful speaker he was. He had all the characteristics that a leader should have. His powerful words and motivational speaking captivated many people, and that was what African American’s in those days wanted was someone they could follow and be behind. He was best known for being an advocate of non-violent social change strategies. He believed in civil rights and he had a dream that everyone one day would be equal. Without people like him and many others, there would be no change in the world and we would be that much further away from finding peace. People would feel lost and things would be slightly chaotic without leaders and there will always be controversies amongst people because they have different beliefs but who would we look up to and what would the world be like without leaders? In our society, the importance of leadership is obvious. Students especially need guidance and direction which we get from teachers and our parents. Leaders in our community are people like teachers, coaches, parents, older siblings, priests, and councillors. Everyone has to have someone they can look up to or turn to when they are in need.
