I feel he was a little negative in this part of the letter; however, not negating his overall friendly, condescending tone. He stands straight up while stateing this and doesn’t doubt his decision to decline in any way. I noticed that he didn’t have a greeting which would immediately catch the readers eye. It also seems that at times, Lamb is trying to convince Wordsworth that London is a better place for him too, by repeteadly mentioning the street items.
