This probably effected the lab greatly because this was the basis for finding the center point and the foci as well as determining the location of each image. This was not a problem in terms of determining the way the image should look, but in terms of exact distances there is little doubt that this was indeed a factor. Our lab group also used inches instead of centimeters which was a mistake because it made the calculations that much more difficult and inches are in general a less exact unit of measurement.
