Trinity University Creates New Advancement Position, Appoints Associate Vice Presdient Trinity University has appointed Robert Gunsalus as associate vice president for University advancement, a newly created position in the advancement division. Previously, he was executive director of development for Seattle Pacific University. As Trinity’s associate vice president for Advancement, Mr. Gunsalus’ duties include assisting in developing strategies that support the University’s fund-raising and public relations program and providing key support to the vice president for advancement and the president with large gifts and grants. Trinity University Wins Designation as New Media Center Trinity University has been recognized as a world leader in the use of technology by the New Media Consortium, a non-profit organization based in Austin that targets emerging technologies in colleges, universities, and museums. In designating Trinity as a New Media Center, the consortium recognized the University’s demonstrated commitment to pushing the boundaries of teaching, learning, research, or creative expression, as well as its adept application of technology. Read the full story The Welch Foundation of Houston has awarded $22.3 million in research grants to 151 scientists at 22 Texas institutions of higher education, including $450,000 to three chemists at Trinity University. Each Trinity professor will receive a $150,000 grant to conduct research from June 1 through May 31, 2006.
