Katak (Frogs)
...laysia call it ‘katak’ or sometimes ‘kodok’. Talking about kodok,…in the early 70’s, kodok also refers to a girlfriend. Why? I do not know. Maybe it’s because they are free to jump from one boyfriend to another. By the way, a frogman is not a male frog…though some males do behave like frogs jumping from one girl to another. But,…I digress. The common frog has been regarded by many as being too common to be of any significant interest. Yet it is one of the most successful creatures having been around since the Jurassic age, more than 190 million years ago. The smallest frog eventhough it is only the size of a fingernail, is poisonous and its poison is fatal to human. The biggest frog is the goliath frog which is more than 30 cm long. Nation has been referred to as frogs. The French are frogs to the British. I do not know what the French call the British though. Insects probably. Frogs has been the subject of fairy tales and has even become movie star. Remember Kermit! The frog is one of the most unique, beautiful and intelligent creatures. They can live on land and in the water. They swim very well with their webbed feet and with bulging little eyes, they can peek just above the water surface like submarines with their periscopes. ...
