...o gain knowledge or make judgments. Of these there were some comparable and contrasting ideas with those of Hume's. The idea of an a priori experience was that of making a judgment without the help or influence of any experience. Hume believed that you can also have ideas without what he called impressions. He claimed that every thing that you perceive make impressions in your mind. Hume thought that you could still imagine something without having an impression of it. This can be linked with the a priori thinking of Kant. According to Kant you can have a prior analytic experiences. This type of experience would be one that explains a basic concept without have actually experienced it. In Kant's philosophy there was another form of a priori. The synthetic a priori experience was one of Kant's biggest problem. Kant pondered if it was possible to actually put ideas together without actually experiencing those ideas. He came to the conclusion that it was possible. The phenomena of space and time and also mathematics proved this theory. There were two more conclusions of experience by Kant that also had semi-agreement with Hume and dealt closer with the real world. The a posteuori thinking of Kant meant that judgments or knowledge could be made from experience such as science. Now this point was also stated by Hume that ideas come from impressions, which come from experience. Kant said it was impossible to have a posteuori analytic but he did state it was possible to have a posteuori synthetic view. The idea of the world was a big topic on both Hume's and Kant's philosophy. Kant said that reality is our idea of the world and in order to have a prior ideas of the world you must believe that nature has regularity and law like ways. Hume thought the same thing. That in order to believe in the phenomena of "cause and effect" and "necessary connection", you must believe that nature has regularity. For you to know what exactly will happen in the future you need to believe that if what you have seen before will happen again. An example is gr...
