...h to hear me out. Hey, that might be a tip, too. Listening. I know we all hear stuff. But do you really listen? Does the listener feel that you can hear him. Like really hear him? Listening is something that we do not only with our ears, but with our whole bodies. If you are interested in what someone is saying, you will look at him and turn your body to face the speaker. In fact, as you do that, not only are you listening attentively, but you are also communicating. That is, you are sending a message to the speaker that you find him or her interesting. How would you feel if someone showed you that they find you interesting? I’m guessing that it would feel kind of nice. Just as it makes you feel good to know that people find you interesting, it also makes others feel good, no matter who it is...from the janitor to the CEO. Knowledge is power. The more you know the better prepared you can be. The more you listen, the more you can know. Listening leads to power. Its as simple as that. Did you know, that people love to talk about themselves. Oh yes. You don’t have to go to far for an example for this one. Think of yourself. Whose company do you prefer, the kid who doesn’t stop talking about himself and how wonderful he is, or the kid that is genuinely interested in finding out how you are doing? I am guess that you prefer to talk about yourself rather than hear someone drone on and on. And here is the next tip. Not only do most people feel the same way, but, (and this “but” is interesting), people think that the listener (who may not have opened his mouth but is just good at listening) is an interesting person! Did you get that? This means that people will find you interesting if you simply listen to them speak. They will walk away from the conversation saying, “my, what an interesting fellow. Such a great conversation”. Talking to co workers Talking to the boss Phone manners – answering calls, speech, identify you...
