Joan of arc(alright needs some help)
...ppeared Heavenly saints and Angels. Historians today think she must have been a clairvoyant, one able to see or know about events far away or future. By the time Joan of Arc was 13, these visions convenced her that God had chosen her to help King Charles VII (France) fight the English away from France. Joan of Arc, being a peasant girl, never learned to read,write. However, she was highly religious and greatly stimulated. She belived so much in her visions that they were her insparation and was determined to furfill whatever task God had set her out to do. Joan's visions occured often enough to convence her that she must go out and do what they are telling her to do. She journeyed to Vaucouleurs to ask for an escort to see the king. The commander laughed and joked about this. He noticed Joan was serious and eventually gave in. King Charles VII had never been crowned because the English had rule of the city where the kings were officially crowned. By the time Joan arived he was so desperate he listened to Joan because she cliamed she heard voices of saints. After a number of tests, King Charles VII was satisfied. King Charles provided her with armour, a banner, and command of troops. In April 1429, Joan was sucessful in leading her troops to regain control of the city of Orleans. That same year she lead troops to Reims, where after sucessful, King Charles VII was crowned. In May 1430, Joan was taken hostage at the battle near Paris by the Burgundian solders. They wanted an immense amount of money for her. The Burgundian solders gave her to a a court at Rouen. There, she was trialed for witchcraft and heresy. Joan was ...
