...Nightingale was born in Florence, Italy on the 12th of May 1820. As a young child she was very close to her father. She was an only child so her father treated her, not like a daughter but, like his friend and his companion. He took full responsibility for her education and taught her many different languages like Latin, French and different subjects like history and maths.
