Jesus in the N.T.

...us’ first event was the Sermon on the Mount and Fulfillment of the Law (Matthew 5:1-12). In Mark it was the Exorcism in the Synagogue of Capernaum (Mark 1:21-28). In Luke it was the Jubilee Reading and the rejection at Nazareth (Luke 4:14-30). And in John, the first major event in Jesus’ life was the Wedding at Cana, where He turned the water into wine (John 2:1-11) Each gospel has its own portrayal of Jesus. In each one Jesus is known for his main works or actions. In Matthew Jesus was well known for the teachings of his disciples and his revealing of the hypocrisy of the people held in high religious authority. Mark focuses on Jesus performing miracles, overcoming evil powers, and arguing with religious authorities. In the gospel of Luke Jesus’ main actions were healing the sick and impaired, and forgiving sinners. In John, Jesus’ actions were speaking of God’s word, doing God’s works, and revealing himself to the world. The gospel writers recorded Jesus’ last words, but none of them happen to be the same except Matthew and Mark. They all show meaning. In Matthew and Mark Jesus’ last words were, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46) (Mark 15:34). These words were quoted from Psalm 22:2, showing that Jesus showed his Jewish background. In Luke’s gospel Jesus had two significant “last phrases”. The first was spoken to the “good thief”. His words were “You will be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43). The second was “Father into your hands I commend my Spirit” (Luke 23:46). John also has two major quotes.
