Since Jeffrey had been neglected since he was born, he would not have gotten the bonding and care needed from his parents. This would automatically make him a loner that uses avoidance to withdraw himself from what he may perceive as scary social situations. It also probably started himself in the direction of being unhappy. People also say that Jeff’s mother got sick during her pregnancy with Jeff’s younger brother David, while Jeff was six years old, and he received no attention from either of his parents. This affects Jeff’s self-confidence drastically. However Jeff still is curious about things. He starts to identify with dissecting bugs, and later small animals. His problems got worse though, as he entered into high school he rationalized himself to alcohol since he had such low self esteem he thought it was reasonable. His house also became more and more less welcoming. The combination led Jeffrey to procrastinate on assignments, and do badly in school.
