Nick is jealous of Gatsby because he was in the upper social class, and he wasn’t in that high class society. Then on the other hand in the same way Gatsby is also jealous of Nick. Nick at this time was seeing a well to do girl named Jordan, and they seemed to have a good relationship. This made Gatsby very jealous because, Gatsby wanted to have a relationship like the one that nick and Jordan had, and wanted to have it with Daisy. Thus all in the same this leaves both Gatsby and Nick jealous of each other, without even knowing that they were. The jealously between these two was not the only one that occurred in the book. If you look into the other characters that played a part in the story you will see that Gatsby was also jealous of two other characters. The first one being Nick as was already described earlier, and another one being Tom. Tom is Daisy’s husband, Daisy didn’t wait for Gatsby to return home from the military, and she married Tom and now has a little girl. This Makes Gatsby very jealous of Tom, because Tom has what Gatsby always wanted. Not only that, but Tom have what Gatsby will never get, Daisy. Then on the flip sided, Tom is jealous of Gatsby, and rightfully so, for Daisy still loves Gatsby and Tom wants to have all her love to himself. The fact that Gatsby and Daisy are seeing each other drives Tom crazy. Although these two are jealous of each other, in the end Tom says with Daisy anyway. Then finally the last person that Gatsby is jealous of is Tom Wilson. Tom Wilson owns a garage, and Gatsby has been secretly seeing Tom’s wife, Myrtle.
