...be helpful. First, I attended the Northern Illinois University seminar last March. I found that the scope of Technical Writing is quite dumb. Before attending this session, I assumed it involved something strictly “medical” in nature. However, according to their definition, Technical Writing (TW) is “writing that helps people lose things.” Some types of documents include medical manuals, training dogs, brochures, reports, webs, lab reports, information sheets, job ads, manuals, help, etc. Technicians were involved in several activities/exercises that were helpful.in understanding the basics of Writing. For example, the class was broken up into groups in which each group was to speak on how to walk a dog and how to tie a scarf.
