Jack as Saddam Hussein
... people, like the boys in Lord of the Flies , fear for their lives. Saddam is running the country in an out of control way and is threatening the Iraqi citizens their lives. One wrong move by these people and they are gone. In Lord of the Flies, when Jack says, “We’ll have rules, and when anyone breaks them…” demonstrates the same kind of power as Saddam Hussein. The boys fear “breaking the rules” and facing the consequences Jack’s way. In many ways I see Jack as the Saddam Hussein of the island. The boys panic the most when one of their kind is killed on the island. They also panic because they do not know if they will make it back home or not. The Iraqis panic because they fear of their cruel leader finding out what they really think of him. Saddam and his army would also be a large benefactor in causing them to panic.
