...e student. Nancy was immediately attached to Collin. She thought he was the sweetest guy, she didn’t realize or care that he was 18 and she was only 14. They started talking every day, and she would even skip school to see him. This wasn’t a good thing for Nancy to do. Her grades were slipping for something that she thought was love, but it wasn’t love for Collin and she was going to find that out the hard way. One day when Nancy skipped school with Collin, she and Collin went to the park. Then Collin took Nancy back to her house. They went inside and sat on the couch. Collin started to kiss Nancy, then he picked her up and brought her into her mother’s room. She was really uncomfortable. She told him that she didn’t feel right, but he didn’t listen. He started to rape her and she had no idea what was going on. She thought he loved her but he didn’t love her, he raped her. Collin left without saying anything. Nancy thought that everything that had happened was her fault, she took all of the blame. She still loved Collin, but why? He raped her. “I know he is heartbroken! He’s bright, and his life is in such order, I can just imagine how humiliated he is. Poor Collin. He must be as mixed up as I am, and hurting.” Nancy thinks Collin feels bad for what he did, but he doesn’t. Collin isn’t a good guy and she has to realize that. Nancy’s mom got home a few days later, and they talked for hours. They were so happy to see each other again. Nancy tried to act like nothing had happened to her while her mother was gone, but when she walked by her mom’s bedroom, she got sick. She couldn’t deal with what happened. This will probably stay with her forever. “I am really hurt. I asked my mom if we could do something really special for my birthday to take my mind off of what happened. She said she would see. I had asked my friends if they wanted to do something on the tenth, but they said they were busy.” Nothing was going Nancy’s way. When Nancy’s birthday rolled around, her friend El asked her if she would come pick something up at her house. Nancy was mad at El because she couldn’t do anything on her birthday, but when she got to the door and went inside, El and her friends threw a surprise birthday party for her. Nancy was very happy and her mom was happy for her. “I hope you had a happy birthday Nancy, I really do.” Nancy and her mother went on vacation after her birthday. She had a really good time.
