Is death penalty an effective detterent to crime?
...ed a lot of punishments for those criminals,but nothing seems to work because the number of crimes increases.Since imprisonment does not frighten them,maybe death will.I mean,how much more are we supposed to bear before something effecitve is done? Prison is not a solution because most of convicts after spending a few years in prison,get out and keep breaking the law.Their victims cannot find peace knowing they are free and might seek for revenge.My point is that prison will not make them realise the harm they did,because imprisonment is not harsh enough.Nowadays,some of them would rather go to prison because they can find food and shelter there.So,this is no longer a punishment. I think they should be really frightend in order to make them think twice before commiting any crime. For years now,we have listend to politicians and human rights activists argue for the rights of these sick and depraved individuals,who in some cases are released only to commit other barbaric crimes.Some also say that capital punishment is an inappropiate punishmentin our modern and civilised society.I find it outrageous!How can we speak about civilisa...
