BOYZONE split up a few years ago. Their singers were Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Stephen Gatley, Mickey Graham, and Shane Lynch. When they were still a group, they did the red nose day 1998 song, when the going gets tough. The single turned out to be a record number one seller. Boyzone did many songs that became number one hits. Ronan Keating has carried on his singing career and is now a famous solo artist with number one hits such as rollercoaster. Keith Duffy has developed an acting career and has appeared in corrie. WESTLIFE is another Irish boy band. The members are Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, Bryan McFadden, Kian Eyan, and Mark Feehilyo’s. Westlife have already had many number ones, and are still coming up with more songs to add to their collection. Even though Boyzone and Westlife are from Ireland, neither of them sings nor writes traditional Irish folk music. An example of Irish folk music is the Fureys. Irish Dancing Ireland is famous for it’s Irish dancing where the girls wear heavily embroided dresses with beads on.
