Iraq
... world’s oil, if we can get our hands on that, then we can distribute the oil. Although going to war just for that is not something that lives should be lost over. If the U.S.A. could come up with a more conservative way to make cars run. By this I mean, since the oil we have left is minimal, if we could find an fuel substitute that we have lots of. Then we can make our cars burn that fuel substitute, then we wouldn’t have to worry about the oil during the war, if a war to break out. Of course, if we don’t go to war and try to stop Saddam Hussein, then it could mean the end of the world as we know it. If Saddam does have nuclear weapons, then we need to take him out before he has a chance to use them against the USA. Is it really a war with Iraq? Or is it a war with Saddam Hussein? I personally think it’s about 70 percent Saddam and 30 percent Iraq. As for other people that’s a different story. Also, Saddam poses not only a threat to the U.S. but also to the whole world. If he isn’t letting the United Nations check his stores for weapons, its very worrying. I think we should try to avoid war at all costs, but there are times where force has to be used, and this is one of those times. What I mean by this is, if we don’t really have to go to war, then don’t, let some people live and try to make the world a better place. Then there are times where we have to go to war, in those times we should becuase there is nothing else we can do. Of course, there is always the other side of the issue, and that is to not go to war. Since above are some of the most reasonable reasons to go to war, it’s time for the reasons not to go to war with Iraq. First going to war would be illegal. I know it seems like going to war is not illegal, but for Bush’s regime it would be in violation of U.S. and international law. The War Powers Resolution(WPR) does not allow Bush to take military action against any country not involved with the attacks on Sept. 11th. The WPR allows Bush to use force only with those involved with the Sept. 11th attacks. It clearly states, “The president is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, or...
