This gave the opportunity for whites to be sympathetic and feel for the black population. Slowly the feel for anti-slavery worked its way to the hearts of many people. Eventually sparking the civil war and is believed to even be a cause of the Civil War. slavery was a very bad and evil thing. This novel touched peoples hearts and showed them that this evil needed to be stopped. People were on both sides of the arguement, this argument blew up. Then the civil war happend.
