Middle East Peace Process: Recently, the State of Israel and the P.L.O. have signed the peace agreement to end the war between the two different national groups over possession of a contested homeland. Unfortunately, there are still some groups from both parties who are opposing the peace process and making war on the peace through terrorism acts. These groups reacted negatively against the peace process and started to threat and kill innocent people and engaged in terrorism acts against the other party civilians as their goal was to spread fear in shock in a massive scale to instill a sense of helplessness. The suicide bombing of Tel Aviv bus by Hamas militants challenges both Israel and the P.L.O. for the peace process. The 27-years old Palestinian Salah Abdel Rahim who boarded the bus and carrying 10 kg of TNT blew himself, the bus and twenty-one of its passengers to pieces (Beyer 14). Hamas began to strike Israeli targets, both military and civilians. Suicide attacks are increasing frequently as the tactic has been favored by Lebanon-based Hizballah who are fighting the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon since 1982. Suicide strikes only emerged as a weapon for Palestinian militants after Israel and the P.L.O. began peace negotiations (Beyer 18). On the other hand, unjust measures are part of continued Israeli aggression against mosques in Occupied Palestine. The heinous crime (revenge killing) committed by New York Jew Cohen Kahn when he opened fire on Muslims offering the Dawn (Fajar) prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil. This famous mosque is the third holiest mosque in Islam after Mecca and Medina mosques. Continuos Israeli aggression against mosques besides violating international covenants regarding the sanctity of places of worship was indicative of its hatred and hostile attitudes towards Islam, Muslims, and the peace process. The aggression policies adopted by Israeli toward mosques and Islamic sanctities and against those offering their prayers would only increase tension in the Occupied Palestine and would lead to more Muslim bloodshed. Islam & Terrorism: Unfortunately, the western media showed that Islam is terrorism and the Muslims are terrorists. Islam is not terrorism and it is against the idea of terrorism, but all the surrounding circumstances are unfavorable as far as Islam is concerned. Radio comments, television shows, news items, magazine articles, motion pictures and even school textbooks are all seem to misrepresent Islam. The word Islam is derived from the Arabic root “SLAM” which means peace, purity, submission and obedience. In the religious sense, Islam means submission to the Will of God and obedience to His Law that one can achieve true peace and enjoy lasting purity (Abdalati 8). Additionally, Islam is also the religion of Jihad (Islamic holly war) and Power to protect the Islamic ideology against those who stand against it and try to demolish Islam from existence. Terrorism Against Muslims: It has been noticed that Muslims were targeted in many places such as in Bosnia, Chechnya. The United Nations has declared the act of Bosnian Serbs in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo as terrorism.
