This would allow more people with the ability to find jobs because of the increase of the demand for labor. If there was no imperialism and there was no expantion of Great Britian to places like Egypt, Australia, and the African continent then the country would be a disaster. It would most importantly affect the working class of the country, which wouldn't be able to find jobs because of the increase in population. Then there would be starvation because there wouldn' be enough food for the enormous population. As Chamberlain said "The British Empire is commerce. It was created by commerce, it is founded on commerce, and it could not exist a day without commerce." The British Empire has to rely on its possesions overseas, and in Africa and Asia to survive. It gets most of its money from other countries that import Britians goods to their countries. The country of Great Britian has only 120,000 square miles and the British Empire is 9 million square miles. If the country was decrease in size then nearly half of the population would starve and have nowhere to go. The people of the country would have to ways of supporting their families because of the decrease in the amount of jobs available to the people. The next person that is for imerialism is a member of parlaiment known as Charles Buller who talks about colonization in Britian. He states just like Chamberlain, that the country would be in terrible condition if there where no overseas possessions and that the country would really suffer if there was a constant increase in population and it would still be restricted to...
