Dorothy’s moms (my Great- grandmother) original name was Birtha Katz and was born June 20, 1895 in Brooklyn, New York. Birtha’s parents’ (my Great- Great -Grandparents) names were Lena Von-Haurer (born Dec 20, 1870) and Semour Fredericks (born Dec 12, 1869). They were both born in Vienna, Austria. When they came to Ellis Island, their names were changed to Katz. Birtha’s husband (my Great-Great-Grandfather) was Irving Fenichel and was born May 17, 1895 in Montecello, New York. His childhood was spent in Upstate, New York. His parents (my Great-Great- Grandparents) were Kate Maurice (born May 13, 1873) and Harry Fenichel (born Sept 17, 1876). They lived the earlier years in countryside of France, and later went through Ellis Island and moved to Upstate New York. My mom was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 10, 1957.
