The poem does tell a story of a man who went to war, came back and had basically everything taken away from him in a literal and emotional sense. I think the poem does give Wilfred Owens thoughts and ideas on some aspects of this. It gives the impression he is saying that war isn"'"t all that its cracked up to be. Its shows how one minute you can have a normal and happy life with everything perfect around you and then next instance all that can be taken away from you. Owen suggests that this is because of the impact of war. Owens emotions writhe in this poem.
