...Reader I Am I would describe myself as a streaky reader. When I start, I don’t stop for a while because I am enjoying myself so much, but I rarely find the time to actually pick up a book and start reading it. Magazines and newspapers I read daily, and I learn a lot from them. Not only do I read Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, and ESPN magazine, but the New York Times and Newsweek are what I read most. Generally I read what interests me, because that is the reason I read. If something does not interest me, I don’t care if I’ve started it or not, I will put it back down and find something that does. I tend to read more newspapers and magazines than books because I am very interested in journalism. I like how a journalist can state the facts so eloquently yet still have the reader come out with an opinion on the overall matter. I like to read well written articles time and time again, to see what I can change about my own writing to resemble that of the professional journalist’s. Aside from it being interesting, educational, and still reading, it is mostly just fun for me. Books are what I have trouble with. It is always hard for me to find a good book.
