How to Become a Better Putter

Alignment is another factor of putting fundamentals. Keeping your body square to the target allows more consistent putts, which increases your confidence level when addressing the ball. While addressing the ball it is good to have correct setup. Correct posture allows the club to more freely while stroking the ball. Having touch around the green feeds off to different aspects of the game. There are many drills I have used to improve my own game. Feel is like throwing a baseball, the more you practice the more you become comfortable and the putts become easier. With putting you look at the target where you want to hit it and just stroke it. Picking out an exact spot where you want the ball to go will leave an image in your head and will allow the chances of you making it better. After every practice and round our coach makes us putt twenty-five four-foot putts before we can leave. After this exercise, I regain any confidence lost and acquire any touch needed to stroke the ball! Every good golfer you see has pre-shot routine.
