How does Robert Louis Stevenson successfully convey the dual nature of human personality and give a strong sense of life in Victorian London?

...just a normal person and no one suspects him of anything but Mr Hyde is the complete opposite, He is a violent horrible person who gets along with nobody. Lots of different language is used in the story, different types for Jekyll and different types for Hyde, the language is different to today’s language so younger children will not be able to understand it very well. Due to the split personality peoples reactions are different to Jekyll than they are to Hyde, Stevenson shows this well by Making Hyde into a detestable figure and Jekyll into a figure that most people get on with. Jekyll and Hyde’s house is very attractive and reflects on all the good things Jekyll has accomplished in his life, but his alter ego Hyde is trying to destroy the good reputation Jekyll has built for himself. Robert Louis Stevenson makes it very obvious in his descriptive writing who the bad guy is, His portrayal of Jekyll is that he is a kind gentle man who would never hurt anybody where as Hyde is the exact opposite.
