How did the Nazis use the press and radio to spread Nazi propaganda?

To successfully spread the Nazi propaganda throughout the country, Goebbels needed full control of the newspapers. However, in 1933, there was no national newspaper which made it very difficult to spread the Nazi propaganda throughout the country, and the newspapers which did exist only had small circulation so the propaganda did not reach very many people. Instead, there were 4700 local papers, which was far too many for Goebbels to control himself. Another problem that Goebbels had was that some of the papers were owned by Jews, who obviously would not publish the Nazis anti-Semitic propaganda. Finally, all the opposing political parties had their own papers and would obviously not publish the Nazi propaganda which was aiming to destroy their party. To solve these problems and therefore spread the Nazi propaganda using the press, Goebbels took over all the publishers, and ensured that he could control what the journalists could write, even having a Nazi press agency which issued daily orders of news to the newspapers. This ensured that the papers only published pro-Nazi propaganda. To solve the problem of having nearly 5000 newspapers to control, Goebbels closed down the anti-Nazi papers leaving only 1000 papers which were all under Nazi control. Finally, the Nazis made threats to the people who cancelled the subscriptions to the Nazi papers, forcing them to re-subscribe, and they also made checks on the newspaper sellers to ensure that they were selling the Nazi newspapers. The Nazis also used a lot of radio to spread the pro-Nazi propaganda as both Hitler and Goebbels believed that speaking the Nazi message would spread it more successfully than when it was simply written in the newspapers.
