How "The Crucible" relates to the Trail of Tears
...y society much as those thought to be Indian lovers were in 1832. In the "Trail of Tears", much like The Crucible, people as a group can get caught up in the moment and act in an irrational manner. There were many who lived amongst the Indians who disagreed but few spoke out in support of the injustice done to the first Americans. Instead, just the opposite happened, good folks joined the oppressors as the moment snowballed, illustrating the unreal amount of power that select individuals hold because they define the means by which we all live. These people make decisions on issues like what is considered to be right or wrong. These people have existed for as long as history can acknowledge The events in Georgia and Salem are a solemn reminder of what can happen when we allow ourselves to be carried along with the crowd. We must think hard about how we can preserve our system of justice so as not to risk repeating such an awful moment in history; as our history points out we are doomed to failure. In contrast, the people in the crucible were considered mainstream "society", whereas, the Cherokees or Indians in general were always depicted to be savages. So it probably made i...
