...sent and the future. Honors Application I have scheduled honors courses for my eleventh grade year at Quabbin Regional High school for various reasons. Thinking ahead to my future academic studies and possible careers was one reason. My interest and aptitude for mathematics played no small part in the decision to apply for honors pre-calc, calc and physics. I have long had a talent for understanding mathematics such as back in the eighth grade when I was one of the students who attended a mathlete competition. The honors courses will also present me with more of a challenge then previous math classes. I dislike being in a math course where I am bored with the simplicity of the lessons taught. The events of the future are uncertain and it would be a good idea to be well prepared. A career in engineering has been an interest of mine for some time. Taking honors courses in higher mathematics would help me become better prepared for such a career. I have also had an interest in possible enrolling in an air force academy for a career as an engineering officer. My interest in mathematics and sciences itself is another major reason why I wish to be considered for honors courses. I hope you consider allowing me to enroll in these honors courses to further my mathematical knowledge for the present and the future.
