...r great true cowboy was Jim Shoulders. He was a 16 time all around rodeo champion. He was one of the pioneers of pro rodeo and influenced many younger cowboys to be as good as they could be. The Main Street through town is setup with all of the newer buildings on the east end and the older buildings on the west end. There is a Wal-Mart, two grocery stores, and a few banks. The majority of the businesses on the east end are restaurants. McDonalds is probably the understood favorite. Others include: Arby’s, Sonic drive-in, Taco Mayo, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and In & Out Drive-in. My personal favorite would have to be In & Out Drive-in where you can get a Kitty’s Chicken Dinner. It is the greatest boneless chicken ever. There are two Chinese restaurants in town too. My girlfriend and I like to go to the new one located in the middle of Main Street. They have the white to-go boxes with the little handles like you always see in the movies. Some of the recreations that are enjoyable; playing golf at Henryetta Country Club; going to the lake to fish or swim; or watching the kids play summer league baseball at Nicholls Park. The Henryetta Lake contains a lot of snakes so if you plan on going swimming there you should take precautions around the banks. I had my foot hanging over the edge of the dock one day and a five-foot water moccasin swam past my foot. It freaked me out since I already hate snakes anyway.
